The incumbent is a member of an interdisciplinary team that thoroughly assesses the needs of Veterans in order to plan and provide a therapeutic environment that will assist the Veteran in rehabilitation of optimal levels of medical, psychological health, chemical abstinence, vocational assistance, and securing benefits needed to reintegrate to community living. Care management responsibilities include the management, coordination, and provision of social work and supportive services to Veterans and/or their families. The incumbent must use a high level of skill in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of Veterans. This is accomplished through the provision of services designed to improve functional status, sustain treatment and rehabilitation gains, recovery, community integration, and breaking the cycle of recidivism. The Domiciliary Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (DRTP) is residential program that provide treatment and rehabilitation services to Veterans who have mental health and substance use disorders that are often complex and co-occur with medical concerns and psychosocial needs, such as employment and housing.
